⚖️ Regulation

Regulation is not simply calming down or controlling behavior.

It is the ongoing process of organizing state well enough for the demands of the moment.

Regulation depends on what the body is perceiving, predicting, and carrying—and on the support available through relationships, environment, movement, and orientation.

The goal is not to force a particular state. It is to understand what state is present and what conditions may increase access.

Regulation supports access to learning, connection, and action.

State Literacy gives us a way to notice state, understand what may be shaping it, and respond with greater precision.
